During this 3.5-hour workshop, you will practice the step-by-step process of shaping, cutting, and stitching your custom babouches. Under Youssef’s patient instruction and with the help of a dedicated local guide to translate and assist, you will transform raw leather into a finished, wearable piece of art.

Artisan Introduction & Leather Selection
Meet master artisan Youssef and receive an introduction to the history of Moroccan leather crafting. Learn how raw leather is sourced, naturally dyed, and prepped, then select your leather colors and sizing.
Cutting & Shaping the Leather
Under Youssef’s step-by-step guidance, use traditional leathercraft tools to trace, cut, and shape the upper parts and soles of your custom babouches.
